Comments/Feedback

In general terms, comments are not active on the site, except in posts which encourage feedback and commenting, however, where commenting or feedback is allowed, members of the public will have to sign up to the site to allow such comments, and we will store the comment / feedback in a computer system, which will include the username (tied to the sign-up details) provided by you at the time of making the comment or providing the feedback. No other detail will be collected.


Financial Data

We are required to hold certain data (such as payment data if you have purchased a membership or product from us) for minimum term to comply with tax and accounting rules. In the event we receive a request to delete data we hold about you this will be explicitly excluded data for the purposes of this request, which will be held in accordance with the following paragraph.

With respect to financial transaction data, currently this must be held for a period of six years after the fiscal year that the data was entered into our systems, after which time it will be archived for a further six years, in accordance with good practice for governance. After this time we will delete all such financial data, except as whole figure amounts may be kept in our reporting systems for historical analysis, but not such that individual transactions can be identified within the data.

We use an external financial provider (payment gateway provider), in this instance Stripe Inc, to process online payments by card and other such method that they may offer from time-to-time. We do not store credit card or direct financial account data on ANY customer on any of our systems, and direct transactions from this website are made on either Stripe Inc’s website or a pop-up provided by them for that purpose.

Your financial data, which is encrypted, is held by Strip Inc, in accordance with their privacy and security policies.

 

Cookies

If you interact with this site, then for normal operational functions, the browser will try to store a cookie. We do not use direct tracking cookies, and any such cookie that needs to be stored for the purposes of operating the site will contain no identifying information about you, and will expire after 24 hours of the final time you visit a page on the site.

If you log in to the site, during any active login, several cookies will be stored on your browser to facilitate this login, and will persist for up to 24 hours after you have logged out of the site, unless you use the ‘remember me’ function offered on some login pages, in which case this cookie will expire a pseudo-random amount of time after you log in, including indefinitely (you can log out to cancel this functionality). These cookies will be able to identify you to administrators of the site. If you do not wish these cookies to be stored on your system, then do not log into the site.

Who we share your data with

We currently share no data with any third party with the except of our financial service partners, and any requirements to hold data (as indicated above) in accordance with the law, including, but not limited to, retention of details for financial reporting, tax compliance, ‘know your client’ rules (where applicable), and even then only to the absolute minimum extent required by law.

How long we retain your data

Unless you instruct us otherwise, we will store data you voluntarily provide to this site, such as comments or surveys or feedback, indefinitely. If it is a comment made publicly on the site, it will also be associated with the username you sign up to the site with (and any associate gravitar or similar service if you are signed up to such a service) and will be associated with such username indefinitely.

What rights you have over your data

In accordance with the preceding headed areas of this policy document, you have the right to request any data we hold about you, and, subject to certain exemptions outlined in the terms and conditions herein, you also have the right to ask us to delete that data.

Where your data is sent

This website is stored on a server currently hosted in the United Kingdom, and, subject to change in the future, that data is subject to data protection laws in the United Kingdom, which are currently the same as those required within the European Union. In the event the laws of the United Kingdom change with respect to their parity or similarity with the rules of the European Union, we will undertake to maintain your data on the basis of the laws that hold the greatest protection for your data, including, if required, moving our server hosting to a provider within the European Union in the event that the UK weakens such protections unreasonably.

We do not currently use or send your data to any service, with the exception of if you make a comment to a post on this site, that comment will be subject to analysis by an anti-spam service (Akismet) which may store your username and comment text on a temporary or permanent basis for the purpose of anti-spam analysis, which they may in turn provide in signature form to third parties. Such signatures or analysis does not expose your personal details, or any association of those details from the submitting site (this site) to third parties beyond the third-party anti-spam service.
